CATFIELD HALL
The Society's latest Occasional Publication (No. 11) is a comprehensive study of the natural history of the Catfield Hall Estate in the heart of the Broads. The 152-page book is the product of eight years of research led by the Society's then chairman of its research committee, Alec Bull, and wide-ranging team of the Society's expert naturalists, at the invitation of the estate's owners, Mr and Mrs Tim Harris.
The book, which is extensively illustrated, describes the history, habitats and hydrology of the estate, then in 28 detailed sections records wildlife ranging from plants, birds and mammals through a great diversity of insect life to minute creatures found in the water.
Copies of the book, price £6.00 including postage, can be obtained from David Paull (see Bird and Mammal Report page).
